STUDENT _____________________________ COURSE 70175: WORKPLACE LEARNING - fall

I. Student Learning Outcomes
This course is intended to give students the opportunity to link academic work, career interests and real world workplace experience.

Students will:

• demonstrate workplace maturity skills such as teamwork, flexibility, priority setting, timeliness, initiative, listening, stress management, mediation sand negotiation
• acquire the technological skills needed for personal, educational and employment success.

Students will

• create a realistic plan for their transition from high school to the next phase of personal education
• experience a sustained relationship with an employer that allows students to build workplace competency skills
• design and execute a project within their placement.
• develop at least one job-related skill
• keep a reflective journal
• write a culminating paper on an agreed upon topic which demonstrates an analysis of a problem, job or chosen project

IV. Assessment
Supervisors will evaluate the work performance of the student. Teachers will assess reflective journal and culminating essay.

V. Duration
The agreement is effective until the end of the current semester.

VI. Progress Monitoring
Progress will be monitored at weekly meetings; therefore, attendance is required.

Grades and credits will be reported at the quarter and end of the semester.
