I. Student Learning Outcomes
All Tamiscal courses share the purpose of helping the student read, write, speak,
and solve problems effectively. Computer Applications is designed to expand
the students competency in the use of technology as a tool to access information,
analyze/solve problems, and communicate ideas. This one-semester course (may
be repeated for credit) gives students the skills and knowledge necessary to
complete a variety of projects using computer software applications. It prepares
studentsí for collegiate level computer science studies and/or entry level work
in the computer industry.
Students will create projects demonstrating their knowledge of and competency in some of the following:

Students will use current software, hardware, textbooks and tutorials (both
in print and online). In addition to the textbook, students are expected to
utilize the internet, email, and other relevant media.
IV. Assessment
Students work will be assessed on a project by project basis.
V. Duration
The agreement is effective until the end of the current semester.
VI. Progress Monitoring
Progress will be monitored at weekly classes; therefore, attendance is required.
Grades and credits will be reported at the quarter and end of the semester.
