Working Well with Others Assignment II

Assuming Responsibility

Listening skills play a major role in the workplace–and life. Think about what you listen to at school and what you choose to filter out. You may have mastered the necessary listening skills needed to succeed at school, but many jobs in the larger world will challenge you with completely new experiences and expectations.

Assignment One: Read and make notes on "Lesson 2: Assuming Responsibility."

(Open and read Lesson 2.)

Assignment Two: Complete Activities 1 and 2.

Assignment Three: Write a fictional character sketch of a young worker in your job who gets off to a good start on the job by demonstrating responsibility. Give the character a name and specific tasks. Describe specific behaviors that prove the character is attentive to important issues at work.
